Disciple

The common meaning of the word "disciple" means "one who receives instruction from another," or "follower," and "one who adheres to a particular school of philosophy, religious thought or art."

Jesus had 12 main disciples, who became better known as the 12 Apostles. But the word disciple is not confined to the main 12, it can be anybody who follows the teachings of Jesus, as in Acts 6:1 "Now in those days when the disciples were increasing in number..."

If you adhere to the teachings of Jesus and live in His Word, you too are a disciple.
