Jews unite in effort to regain homeland Israel

1897: Theodor Herzl organizes the first Zionist Congress, held in Basel, Switzerland, unifying diverse Zionist groups into one movement. The meeting helped establish Zionist organizations in many countries that had large Jewish populations.
