Melchizedek blesses Abraham, in Genesis 14:18-20, providing a foreshadowing of Jesus' public ministry, as explained in Psalm 110:4 and Hebrews 7.
Melchizedek, whose name means "Righteous King," was King of Salem (Jerusalem), and was called priest of "God the Most High," in Genesis 14:18. After Abraham's victory over Chedorlaomer, Melchizedek greeted him with a gift of bread and wine and then blessed Abraham.
