Nehushta

Nehushta was the wife of Jehoiakim, King of Judah, and the mother of Jehoiachin, who became King of Judah when he was 18-years old and reigned for three months.

Nehushta was the daughter of Elnathan and she was from Jerusalem.

When King Nebuchadnezzar conquered the kingdom of Judah about 2500 years ago, he took King Jehoiachin, his mother Nehushta, and thousands of influential people and skilled workers into captivity to Babylon (2 Kings 24:14-15).

Nehushta is mentioned by name in one verse of the Bible, in 2 Kings 24:8.

The name Nehushta means "a piece of brass."
