Jesus is widely acknowledged as the Messiah by billions of people throughout the world, but he is wildly underappreciated as a remarkably accurate prophet who predicted the worldwide spread of Christianity and the worldwide scattering of the Jewish people.

In fact, Jesus gave more than 50 predictive prophecies in the New Testament of the Bible. Many of these prophecies were predictions about Israel, himself, his followers, his teachings, and the future.

Some of his prophecies, namely the ones about the future, will be fulfilled after he returns in the future for Judgment Day. When he returns, he will resurrect the dead, judge the living and the dead, and fully realize and fully establish the Kingdom of God, which also is known as the Kingdom of Heaven.

Many books have been written about Jesus’ prophecies about the future. Those prophecies are often referred to as the “End Times” prophecies. Those books vary greatly in quality. Some authors distort the teachings of the Bible to appeal to potential consumers who hold a particular political view. And some authors have an exotic view of the End Times prophecies that violate the teachings of the Bible.

Regardless of the quality of the many End Times books that are currently available at book stores, they have been successful in deceiving people into thinking that Jesus, as a prophet, was primarily focused on the End Times and that his prophecies have not yet been fulfilled.

The truth, however, paints a very different picture. Most of Jesus’ prophecies were not about the End Times. Most were about himself, about his followers, about the land and people of Israel, and about the spread of Christianity. And most of his prophecies have already been fulfilled.

Among his predictions, Jesus foretold that his teachings (Christianity) would reach people in the “uttermost” parts of the earth:

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth.” (Acts 1:8, WEB)

In this prophecy, which was given in about the year AD 30, which is almost 2,000 years ago, Jesus is revealing to his disciples that Christianity will be introduced to people throughout the land of Israel and throughout the world.

Jesus made similar predictions in Matthew 24:14 and Luke 24:44-47, and he alludes to the predicted worldwide spread of his teachings in a prophecy in Matthew 26:13, which is repeated in Mark 14:9. These predictions have proven to be remarkably accurate. Christianity spread very quickly throughout Israel and throughout the Roman world, which overlapped parts of western Asia, southern Europe and northern Africa. It later spread to other parts of Asia, Europe and Africa and eventually to the other continents of the world.

In fact, Christianity is the first religion to have ever spread to people within each of the world’s inhabitable continents.

In fact, Christianity continues to be the only religion with a majority presence within at least one country on each of the inhabitable continents of Asia, Africa, Europe, North America, Oceania and South America.

In fact, there are actual standalone churches in Antarctica, which has no permanent population due to extreme weather conditions, to accommodate visiting scientists, researchers and others.

Christianity is far and away the world’s most widespread religion, with at least 10,000 or more followers within at least 97 percent of the world’s 200 or so countries, according to an analysis of 2022 data from the CIA World Factbook and of 2020 data from the Pew Research Center.

Today, there are an estimated 2.3 billion Christians throughout the world, who acknowledge that Jesus is the savior (the Messiah), who was promised by the prophets of the Old Testament, that he is the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies about a promised savior.

Even so, many people overlook the fact that Jesus also is a prophet and that some of his predictions have been fulfilled to global proportions.
